Odoo Business Systems

A business system built around the way you work.

Paul helps you implement, migrate, improve or rescue Odoo so sales, stock, jobs and invoicing follow a coherent process. Start with the operations you need today. AI, automation projects and phone systems are separate choices, not prerequisites.

Sales, stock, jobs and invoicing around a shared Odoo system
01 / Clearer operations

Problems worth solving

Sales in one spreadsheet, stock in another and job details in an inbox. Which record is current?

Odoo should bring that work together—not add another system people have to work around.

Existing setup no longer fits?

Sales in one spreadsheet, stock in another and job details in an inbox make it difficult to know which record is current. An existing Odoo installation can also become hard to use when its setup no longer matches the business.

The aim is a clear source of operational information and a process people can follow — not enabling every app at once.

02 / Focused scope

What the engagement
can deliver

Start with the operations you need today. Agree priorities and acceptance checks before delivery.

Scope, apps and licensing

Scope can include process discovery, Odoo configuration, selected app rollout, data migration, integrations, custom development, training or repair of an existing implementation. Priorities and acceptance checks are agreed before delivery.

Typical areas include CRM and sales, purchasing and stock, field service or project work, and invoicing. The exact apps, edition, licences and customisation needed depend on your requirements.

01

Implement & configure

Process discovery, configuration and selected app rollout.

02

Improve & repair

Resolve friction in an existing implementation.

03

Migrate & connect

Prepare data and assess useful integrations.

04

Train & hand over

Help the team use and own the process.

03 / Keep what works

Integrations and
existing systems

Not everything needs to move into Odoo. Connect what helps, and be clear about which system owns each record.

Illustrative connections only. Feasibility depends on APIs, connectors, edition and permissions.

Ownership, connectors and maintenance

Review what should remain outside Odoo and what needs to connect: website enquiries, email, reporting, telephony or specialist applications. The available APIs, connectors, edition and permissions determine what is practical.

Data ownership and conflict rules need to be clear when two systems update the same information. Third-party connector licences and ongoing maintenance are included in the scope discussion.

04 / A considered rollout

Migration, testing
and cutover

Prove the process before it becomes your everyday system. Plan the data, downtime and recovery—not just the launch date.

01 / PREPARE

Clean the records

Agree what moves and remove duplicates.

02 / TRIAL

Import & check

Check representative records and open work.

03 / TEST

Let staff try it

Validate workflows outside production.

04 / CUT OVER

Launch with a plan

Agree backups, downtime and recovery.

Migration safeguards and go-live details

Review the current database or exports, decide what to migrate and clean up duplicates before a trial import. Check representative customers, products, balances or open work as relevant to the agreed scope.

Staff test the proposed process in a non-production environment. Agree backups, final data transfer, cutover timing, any downtime and a recovery plan before go-live. Training and a staged rollout help reduce disruption; a zero-downtime migration is not assumed.

A zero-downtime migration is not assumed.

05 / Clear expectations

Fit and boundaries

Shared records need shared ways of working. A focused rollout is often more manageable than changing every department at once.

Standard features first; customisation with its maintenance implications understood. Accounting, tax and compliance decisions remain with your qualified advisers.

Read the full fit and boundaries

Odoo suits businesses prepared to agree how work should move between people and maintain shared records. A focused rollout is often more manageable than changing every department at once.

Not every requirement should become custom code. Standard features are assessed first, with the maintenance implications of any extension made explicit. Accounting, tax and compliance decisions remain with your qualified advisers; software configuration is not professional advice.

Ownership and
hosting choices

Agree subscriptions, administrator access, data exports, backups and updates. Hosting and licence costs are scoped separately.

Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or self-hosted?

Discuss Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or a self-hosted deployment against edition, custom-code needs, access and operational responsibilities. The right option depends on the implementation; not every hosting choice supports the same extensions.

Agree who owns subscriptions and administrator accounts, how data can be exported, who maintains backups and updates, and what access you receive to custom work. Hosting and licence costs are scoped separately rather than hidden inside an assumed support commitment.

06 / Ready for everyday work

Handover and optional support

Role-based training, process notes and clear ownership. Further improvements and support are separate choices—not a compulsory bundle.

Training, ownership and support scope

Handover can include role-based training, process notes, administrator guidance and an agreed list of remaining work. Your nominated owner should understand everyday operation and how changes are requested.

Paul can provide separately scoped improvements or ongoing support if useful. You do not have to buy AI services or a monthly support plan to implement Odoo. Support scope, availability and fees are agreed explicitly.

No requirement to buy AI services or a monthly support plan.

Start with a conversation, not a commitment.
